I know of a guy building two in California!

https://australiansailfish.wordpress.com/Boatmikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01680657927946421496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-68972858512336325432018-02-20T04:28:22.293-08:002018-02-20T04:28:22.293-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10671855663037958056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-69166874336686207782017-02-16T16:39:47.615-08:002017-02-16T16:39:47.615-08:00I have a fuzzy but still vivid memory of sailing a...I have a fuzzy but still vivid memory of sailing a sit-on-top American Sailfish one afternoon as a teenager. Pure unadulterated fun blasting back and forth. No other craft gives you the feeling that you are part of that bow wave, curling and then flattening as it reaches you, bouncing and bashing, spray enveloping you, as you careen back and forth. The precariousness of fighting to stay on the slippery deck just adds to the adventure.Tweezermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06559514473959503645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-81374644488260031282017-02-16T09:41:09.504-08:002017-02-16T09:41:09.504-08:00I like it ...I like it ...isleofwightlenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09683338208998620369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-31043616056933557802017-02-15T19:08:51.587-08:002017-02-15T19:08:51.587-08:00Nice, Glad I don't have to do it.Nice, Glad I don't have to do it.
Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02213113359056747546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-62316700730159669582017-02-14T06:09:30.286-08:002017-02-14T06:09:30.286-08:00I was going to make a comment about the US sailfis...I was going to make a comment about the US sailfish, but wavedancer beat me to it!my2fishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14457239434851029876noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-74311003163061663742017-02-13T19:16:41.456-08:002017-02-13T19:16:41.456-08:00Tony's tacking and gybing technique is very id...Tony's tacking and gybing technique is very idiosyncratic. He had end-boom sheeting on his boat, which I hadn't seen previously on a Sailfish. That gave him space for his mid-boom belly flop. Effective though - he had his appropriately named relic going like a rocket.
We were sailing side-by-side on very thin water in an attempt to avoid the worst of a strong ebb tide when disaster struck for Tony. He's an excellent sailor - a current top 10 Australian Paper Tiger catamaran skipper.Chris Clearynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-4843653046225729492017-02-13T17:36:08.983-08:002017-02-13T17:36:08.983-08:00Seems just about as uncomfortable as the US Sailfi...Seems just about as uncomfortable as the US Sailfish

WavedancerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273883632460433399.post-34894973327945897272017-02-12T10:33:26.740-08:002017-02-12T10:33:26.740-08:00The old and new photographs certainly show how we ...The old and new photographs certainly show how we age over the years!!

The Sailfish is about as close to the water that a person can get without actually swimming! (hence the 'fish' part of Sailfish no doubt) A surfboard with a sail! great stuff and they sail beautifully.Alden Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06601028197387499096noreply@blogger.com
