Tom Price Pencil Drawings

Good friend, Tom Price, top-notch racer and also an artist, sends along these pencil drawings he did as trophies at a recent Star Regatta. Obviously most of them are of Stars but he also did a nice one of a traditional tall ship, I think a barquentine. Just superlative work! As always click on one of the photo to get an expanded view.

Great drawings - like them all- especially the old square rigger.

Super! I suppose, it's a barque on the last painting.

Tom illustrated the early Stuart Walker sailing books. Each chapter would have one of his drawings on it.

At either the 1980 14 US Nationals or the subsequent 14 Worlds at SSA, the participation trophy was a large Tom Price drawing of old 14s - think Uffa Fox's Alarm or Daring sitting on a dock. I loved it and couldn't wait to get home and have it framed. I put it in the coat closet on the plane home. When we landed, I went to retrieve it on the way off, and some A-hole had pinched it...
