A few of you may have wondered what has happened to this blog. I've been off drawing. You know, the art thing that old people get into. Mostly nudes. Go figure.
I've generated lots of nudes over the year. You're both welcome to have one or two - very tasteful. (My wife won't let me hang them around the house - grandkids she says, plus at one point early on she said I was the worst artist she had ever seen - brutal.) I draw self portraits to get my fill of crinkly lines and sagging jowls.
I've been an commercial artist (retired from that) and switched to fine art when I was 50....some years ago now. I've done my share of nudes, etc. the key to it is, marry someone who knows that you do them and what is she going to say. If there is anything I can do to help your art ambitions, I'd be glad to add my $.02. You might be interested in looking at what I've done by going to "garygowansart" on a G search. Good luck. If it was easy, everyone could do it.
I'm strictly an amateur. Gary, I've seen your marine art at the local gallery just off the harbor and it matches the best marine art I've seen. I'll keep mucking along with no big ambitions. If for some reason I get into oil painting (which I've avoided up to this point), I'll keep your offer of advice in mind.
Bald but my eyebrows are growing at a prolific rate. Sailed Windmills and Y-Flyers in the 1960's. Founded Miami University (OH) sailing team. Sailed International 14's and Lasers in the 1970's. Sailed International Canoes in the 1980's to mid 1990's. Sailed Classic Moths since 2002. Enjoy boatbuilding though I'm very, very slow at it (the Internet doesn't help matters). Name in real life: Rod Mincher
After choosing this username (Tweezer is the name of my Classic Moth), further research on the Internet turned up that Tweezerman is a corporate name for a line of pedicure products. Let me emphasize that I do not work for, nor endorse these products.
